put them on. It was very warm for a shell and it had a green glow to it. Another
awkward silence descended.
“I
know,” Kayla said to us all, “but remember, this is the beginning, so don’t be sad. We
will all see each other again, I promise. It has been an honour and a pleasure teaching
and serving each and every one of you.” There were tears in all our eyes. “Now each of
you give me a hug, I have to get back to work.” We all hugged her and as much as I tried
to hold back the tears I couldn’t. She turned and went back to the amphitheatre. The
band was still going strong and I memorised the sounds and image to make sure I never
forgot my friend and teacher Kayla.
It left the four of us now to say our goodbyes to each other. The twins wasted no time
and immediately jumped into their humorous banter. “Okay Matt, don’t go and get
yourself killed or anything now you hear?” said John.
“Yeah, Kim would be devastated and we really don’t want to travel halfway around the
world for a funeral. A party yes, but a funeral no,” laughed Phil.
“And you little miss, don’t go and fall in love with someone else, Matt would just die,”
joked John.

laughed with the twins. I was sure going to miss them. We hugged each other and with a
few firm handshakes and red eyes we bid the twins farewell and watched them as they
walked off. Kim and I were left looking awkwardly at each other. Kim broke the silence.
